The Kiddie Wave Rider (KWR) comes ready to turn on and use. A lithium battery is built-in. A battery gauge on the helm shows the state of the battery charge. The battery can be charged from the external socket on the side.

The receiver and antenna for the remote control are safely installed inside the shell. The KWR cannot be started, even with the power switch turned on, unless the Remote Control is also turned on. This special safety feature keeps Kids from using the KWR when there is no parent present.

There are steel tie-down loops under the front and the back lip. These are useful for securing the unit when transporting. And they can be used to anchor the boat to the shore when not in use at a lake.

The throttle on the KWR is easy for a Kid to use. Rotate the red throttle lever forward and the forward speed is activated. Speed increases as the dial is rotated. The opposite direction works for reverse, which is very useful for slowing or stopping the KWR. Neutral is in the middle, where the spring-loaded guide helps position the lever.

Never move the throttle out of neutral, when the KWR is out of the water!

The thruster which powers the KWR is a ducted-fan design which increases the thrust of the three blade propeller. The shell also protects the propeller blades from damage, and it protects the blades from damaging anyone who might put their toes under the boat.

Note: The thruster should never be run out of the water. The motor bearings are water lubricated.

The left hand socket on the side of the KWR is for charging. Under the cover is a two prong plug that matches the plug on the charger.

On the he right is the ON - OFF switch. But it is also a key. It can be rotated downward to the OUT position and removed, so that the unit can't be operated without the key in place.

The safety cord can be attached to the life jacket of the Kid who is riding. Should he fall off, the end of the cord will detach and turn the power to the motor off. The KWR will not continue running with no rider, that way.

The internal battery for the Kiddie Wave Rider (KWR) is a Lithium LifePO battery with 30 amp hours of endurance.

Image

The Lithium battery that is built-in needs a charger that can properly charge a LifePO battery. So we have included a smart charger, which comes with the plug that fits the KWR. (This charger will also charge standard batteries using an interchangeable clip style end that is also included.)

The Remote Control transmitter is a long distance control with steering and throttle control for both forward and reverse. It automatically pairs with the receiver in the KWR. All you do is turn it on and it is ready to operate. The Channel 5 dial at the top is the feature that really sets this control apart. Just by rotating the dial, the parent can instantly switch control from the Kid to the Parent and take over. This remote is included in the package.

Since the transmitter above is a powerful, long-distance unit, it requires quite a bit of power. Regular batteries get drained quickly. So we have included long lasting NimH batteries and a plug-in charger to keep your transmitter batteries full and ready to go.
